J.C. Diamond officiating. Mr. Jones had suffered ill health for a long period. For a number of years he was an employee of the Colonna Shipyards and had the distinction of being the first employee to be retired. He was featured in the Personality Column of the Southside Page some weeks ago at the request of his many friends and was a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise Jones; five sons, Homer, William, Eugene Havelon, Ralph and Julian Jones; three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Moseley, Miss Thelma Jones and Mrs. Vivian Lashley; seven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery with employees of the Colonna shipyard serving as pallbearers and with the deacons of the church being honorary pallbearers. The Chatman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
