NORFOLK — Mordaunt S. Jones Sr., 66, of 732 Redgate Avenue died in a hospital 
Saturday night.
A native of Norfolk, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a son of J. 
Bunyan and Mrs. Ada Hopkins Jones.
He was a retired Merchant Marine engineer.
He is survived by a son, Mordaunt S. Jones Jr. of Rockwall, Tex.; a brother, 
Stanleigh H. Jones of Virginia Beach;. and a granddaughter, Karen Suzanne Jones 
of Rockwall.
The body will be taken from Cox Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery where a funeral 
service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Paul Mims of First Baptist 
Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to either the Heart Fund or Cancer 
Fund.
