The Virginian-Pilot, Sunday, February 1, 1970

BATON ROUGE, La. - Leon J. C. (Bruiser) Jones, 45, of 1125 Myrtle St. died 
Friday.

A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Esco Jones and Mrs. Sadie Holloway of New 
York.

He was a teacher in McKinley Junior High School and formerly was prominent in 
sports in Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rosetta Johnson of 
Norfolk.

The body is being sent to Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk. The family will be at 
236 Westover Ave., Norfolk.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Leon C. (Bruiser) Jones will be held Saturday at 
3:30 p.m. in Graves Funeral Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will be 
in Calvary Cemetery.
