Jones, 75, of 1606 Manteo St., Shriner who was grand marshal of its Oyster Bowl Parade 14 years, died Saturday in a Richmond hospital. A native of Lynchburg, he lived here 74 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Mona Rice Jones and a son of Booker F. and Mrs. Eva Mangum Jones. He was an Army lieutenant in World War I. He was an Episcopalian, member of Ruth Masonic Lodge 89, Norfolk United Royal Arch Chapter I, Grice Commandery 16 of Knights Templar, and Khedive Shrine Temple. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Brown III of Baltimore; a son, Allen T. Jones of Richmond; a brother, Harry C. Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.;and six grandchildren. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Beverly Tucker White, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
