The Virginian-Pilot, Friday, March 2, 1973

NORFOLK - Jackson Jones of 1007 Rugby St., the husband of Mrs. Viola Jones, died 
Thursday in a hospital.

A native of Smithfield, he was a son of the late Mrs. Mattie (Bedgood) Lawson.

He was a retired custodian of Norfolk State College.

He was a member of the Trustee Board of First United Presbyterian Church, Eureka 
Lodge and New Light Masonic Lodge 196.

Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Dr. Eugene Lawson of New York; a foster 
daughter, Mrs. Mary F. Jones of Petersburg; a brother, Herman Jones Sr., and a 
sister, Mrs. Alberta B. Wise, both of Smithfield.

The body was taken to Graves Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Jackson Joneswill be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in 
First Presbyterian United Church by the Rev. O.J. Wynn with burial in Calvary 
Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home has charge.
