Jones, who had been under treatment at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital for ten days, died at that institution Sunday morning. The deceased was a native of Illinois, but had resided in Norfolk for three years, where he was well known and highly esteemed. He is survived by a widow and seven children, two sisters - Mrs. Claire and Mrs. Dean, of Norfolk, and a brother - John A. Jones, of Oakland, Cal. His funeral was held from the apartments of Funeral Director H. D. Oliver, 520 Freemason street, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., of Freemason Street Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery. The pallbearers were O. H. Bell, E. A. Bell, J. F. Bell, J. F. Carmine, C.
