Virginian Pilot December 3, 1993

Walter Relfe Jones, 73, died Dec. 1, 1993, in Norfolk.
Mr. Jones was born in Durants Neck, N.C., and retired in 1976 from the Norfolk 
Naval Shipyard after 35 years. He was a member of Indian River Baptist Church 
and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ophelia M. Jones; two daughters, Donna K. Davis of 
Norfolk and Carolyn J. Griffin of Virginia Beach; one son, Walter Wayne Jones of 
Norfolk; two sisters, Frances Taylor of Chesapeake and Margaret Simpson of 
Norfolk; and three grandsons.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery. The family 
will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 p.m. to 9 
p.m. today. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the 
Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, (NU)20 Koger Center, Suite 233, 
Norfolk, VA 23502.
