Virginian Pilot Tuesday June 23,1959
Norfolk - Mrs. Mary Etta Jones of 1000 Albert Ave. died at her home Monday morning.

She was a daughter of Mrs. Mary Eliza Johnson and the late Levi Johnson and the
widow of Harry N. Jones.

A native of Norfolk County, she had lived in Norfolk for 45 years.  Mrs. Jones
was a member of Norfolk Temple No.1B -I.B.P.O.E of W., the Crown Princesses, the
White Lilys and the Metropolitan AME Zion Church where she served on the Usher
Board No. 1 and the Missionary Society.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arlethia J. Woodard of
Norfolk;  three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Payton of New York City, Mrs. Mattie
Rivers and Mrs. Amanda Bright, both of Norfolk;  two brothers, Levi Johnson and
Arthur Johnson, both of Hickory.

The body was taken to the Riddick Funeral Service.  Funeral services will be
conducted at the Metropolitan AME Zion Church Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev.
Richard A. Council, pastor.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
