Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, January 14, 2004 
Linwood E. Jones , 66, of the 1200 block of Colonial Ave., died Jan. 9, 2004, at
DePaul Medical Center. Born in Norfolk, he retired three years and four months
ago after 25 years and one month of service as a police officer at Norfolk State
University. He was a high school graduate, served in the U.S. Army and was a
member of Arabia 12 and Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Jones of Norfolk and Linchetta Jordan
of Kentucky; two sons, Eric Jones and Keith Stallings, both of Norfolk; mother,
Laura Emma Jones; father, William Jackson Jones; two sisters, Mildred E. Walker
and Helen M. Jones, both of Norfolk; a brother, Raymond Jones Sr. of Chesapeake;
three grandchildren, Chakia Stallings, Lamont Stallings and Mercedes Jones; and
a great-grandchild, Merkia Fitzgerald, all of Norfolk.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Graves Funeral Chapel by Pastor
Ronald Jones with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
