Virginian Pilot March 5, 1901

The funeral of Mearle Lucille, the 15-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Allen 
Jones, who died at their residence Saturday night at 11 o'clock, was conducted 
from the residence, on Berkley Avenue, yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock by Rev. 
W. Asbury Christian, pastor of the Memorial M.E. Church. The deceased had been ill 
with pneumonia for some time and her death was not unexpected. The remains were 
interred in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
