Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, December 13, 2009 
NORFOLK - Clara Lee Jones , 86, widow of Robert Lee Jones, died Wednesday, Dec.
9, 2009, in her home. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late
James Earnest and Clara Hill, and was predeceased by two brothers, James Andrew
and Robert Melvin Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Ella Wilson; one brother, Ernest
Hill; six sisters, Ella Jane Towler, Julia Williams, Oretha Stone, Celestine
Hill, Ruth Jones, and Gloria Wyche. Clara was the grandmother of eight, Tonie
Wilson Poynter, Tiran Wilson, Terry Wilson Carter, Todd Wilson, Mark Wilson,
Glen and Glenda Wilson, Myra Wilson and the great-grandmother of 23 and the
great-great grandmother of 12.

Clara was a devoted member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was a
Grand Matron and Past Matron of Excelsior Chapter No. 82, OES, PHA, member of
the Daughters of Isis, PHA Order of the Golden Circle, Tents, Huntersville
Senior Citizen Club and numerous other organizations.

A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Bobby Bowser at Mount Lebanon Baptist
Church, 1141 Campostella Road, Norfolk, Monday, Dec. 14, at noon. Graves Funeral
Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
