NORFOLK - On Oct. 21, 2006, the Lord called home his servant, Phillip Duncan
Jones of the 2900 block of Tait Terrace. Born May 16, 1929, to the late Essie
Jones and Phillip Duncan, he attended Norfolk public schools and graduated from
Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1947. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Air Force and worked for the U.S. Postal Service and worked many years at
Steinhilber's restaurant where he had recently retired.

Phillip was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Ray Jones. He leaves to
cherish his memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Adrian J. Avery (Ervin) and
Spring J. Williams (Larry); five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and
a special companion, Zenobia Poyner; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held Thursday at noon in New Calvary Baptist Church with the
Rev. G.G. Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Graves
Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
