Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, January 31, 1997 
Samuel L. Jones of the 900 block of Liston Lane died Jan. 29, 1997, in a local
hospital.

A retired machinist at Norfolk Naval Air Station, Mr. Jones was a Petersburg,
Va., native.

He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Fentress, Jill Epps and Joelyn
Walker; six sons, Michael, Steven, Stanley, Stewart, Samuel and Spencer; mother,
Willie Davis; sister, Dorothy Jones; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
and a host of other family members and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel
by Pastor Levi Willis II. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service
will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. The family and
friends will assemble at the residence at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
