The Norfolk Virginian Pilot July 9, 1947
Alexander McComb Jones, 81, son of the late Rev. Richard H. and Mrs. Harriett 
Hoskins Jones, a native of Edgecombe County, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk 
for 60 years, died yesterday at 2:45 p.m. at a Norfolk hospital.
Surviving are one son, Alexander M. Jones, Jr., of New Mexico; one daughter, 
Mrs. Harriett J. Ewell, of Norfolk, two grandchildren, and a number of nieces 
and nephews. Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Taylor Willis, D.D., rector of Christ and St. 
Luke's Church.  
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
