Norfolk - Funeral services for Mrs. India Jones, a member of St. John’s AME
Church here for 56 years, who died at her residence on Gordon avenue last week
were held at this church Sunday with the Rev. H. M. Shields officiating.

During the services many condolences were read and solos were rendered by the
Rev. R. Alston and Mrs. Catherine Lane.

Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, the Rev. William P. Jones of New York and
Otto Jones of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Clark Jones of Norfolk and
Mrs. Julia V. Johnson of Boston, MA.

In addition she is survived by one sister, nineteen grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.

Local grandchildren attending the services were Mrs. Lucille Bynum and David
Jones. Grandchildren from New York were: Mrs. Mildred Henderson, Ferdinand
Jones, Mrs. Delma Wilson and William P. Jones, Jr. Also attending were Mrs. Lois
Anderson of Greensboro, NC, and Mrs. Lucille Jones, wife of Rev. Mr. Jones of
New York. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
