NORFOLK - Lillie Victoria Jones went to be with our Lord March 14, 2006, at the
age of 96. Known for her great generosity and spirit, as well as her beautiful
smile, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Born in Ahoskie,
N.C., she was the daughter of the late Joe Henry and Susie Mitchell. She
attended the public schools of Ahoskie and later relocated to Portsmouth where
she met and married her husband, Irvin Jones . They married in 1933, and from
that union one child was born.

Lillie was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church where she served on
the Women's Usher Board for a number of years. Other than her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband, Irvin Jones , whom she was married to for 32 years,
as well as her sisters and brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memory a child, Clarise Pryer and son-in-law,
Roosevelt Pryer; five grandchildren, Barry Pryer (Barbara) of Chesapeake,
Belinda Pryer of Hampton, Morechell Pryer (Bonita) of Virginia Beach, Dolline
Hatchett (Greg) of Bowie, Md., and Clorise Johnson (John) of Atlanta, Ga.; nine
great-grandchildren, Barry Zolicoffer, Brandon, Brittany, Barry and Solomon
Pryer, Alexa and Elissa Pryer and Maia and Justin Hatchett; three nephews,
Charlie, Melvin and Bud Askew; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church
in Norfolk. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Norfolk. Viewing will
be Monday from 1 to 7 p.m. The family is receiving services of comfort from
Fitchett Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
