He was a son of Charles and Mrs. Mary Jones and the widower of Mrs. Willie Ann Jones. Born in Richmond, he lived in Norfolk 38 years and retired from Norfolk & Western Railway after 56 years. He was a member of ILA 978 and of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, where he was a deacon 47 years. Surviving are two sons, Leonard H. Jones and Nathaniel Jones, and three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Palin, Mrs. Lillian Metz, and Mrs. Della Davis, all of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. Hudson Bobbitt, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
