Virginian Pilot April 27, 1972

Mrs. Sadie (Aunt Sadie) Sanford Jones, 92, of 1207 Seaboard Ave. died 
Wednesday in her home.
A native of Berkley, Norfolk County, she lived in this area all her life.
She was the widow of John T. Jones and a daughter of George E. and Mrs. 
Sarah Skillings Sanford.
Surviving are three nieces, Miss Beatrice George of Chesapeake and Mrs. 
Blanche DeShields and Mrs, Aubrey Willis of Norfolk and two nephews, George 
E. Sanford and Jesse Sanford of Norfolk.
The body was taken to Francis A. Gay Funeral Home where the family will be 
tonight from 7 to 8:30.

JONES, SADIE SANFORD, At her residence Wednesday night, April 26, 1972, MRS 
SADIE LOUISE SANFORD (MISS SADIE) JONES, widow of John T. Jones and daughter 
of the late George E. and Mrs. Sarah Skillings Sanford.  She was a 
Methodist.  Surviving are three nieces, Miss Beatrice George, Mrs. Blanche 
DeShields and Mrs. Aubrey Willis and two nephews, George Sanford and Jesse 
Sanford, all of this area.  Also several nieces and nephews of eastern North 
Carolina.
A funeral service will be held FRIDAY April 28, 1972, at 2 p.m. in Francis 
A. Gay Funeral Home, by the Rev. Bill Simmons.  Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.  The family will assemble at 1207 Seaboard Ave., Chesapeake, 
Virginia.
