Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, June 12, 1998 
Fannie McCoy Jones, 95, of the 1400 block of Lake Forest Drive and formerly of
514 Georgia Ave., Norfolk, died June 9, 1998, at Maryview Medical Center.

Born in Norfolk, she was a homemaker, a member of Basilica of St. Mary of The
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a Mother of St. Mary's Catholic
Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Jones Sr.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Juanita Church of Norfolk, Virginia
Elaine Griggs of Portsmouth, and Alma Jones Davis of Portsmouth; three sons,
Alexander J. Jones Jr. and Phillip L. Jones, both of Philadelphia, Pa., and
Bernard D. Jones of Portsmouth; three daughters-in-law; a son-in-law; 44
grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; many
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday by Monsignor Walter Barrett at Basilica
of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be at 3 p.m. today. The family will assemble at
11 a.m. at 1447 Lake Forest Drive, Portsmouth, for the processional. Carlos A.
Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapter, is in charge.
