E. Booker Jones, aged 64, died yesterday morning at 3:30 o’clock in Newport 
News. He was a former well-known resident of Norfolk and was at one time a 
clerk at the Fairfax Hotel. He was a member of Harmony Lodge, I.O.O.F., of 
Norfolk, and the Grand Lodge of Virginia. Besides his wife, Mrs. Eva I. Jones, 
he is survived by two sons, Harry C. Jones, of Newport News, and Percy A. 
Jones, of Norfolk, and one grandchild, Allen T. Jones. Funeral services will be 
held at H.D. Oliver’s funeral apartments, 610 East Freemason Street, this 
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., of Freemason Street 
Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
