He was a son of the late James P. and Mrs. Anna Willis Jones and husband of the late Mrs. Mary Brinkley Jones. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Knowlton, Norfolk; three sons, R.B. Jones, Lynnhaven; J. Allen Jones, Fox Hall, Norfolk County and Thaddeus Jones, Washington, D.C.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a member of Memorial M.E. Church, a past master and senior chaplain of Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F. & A.M., a member of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter No. 46 and the last charter member of Lee Lodge, No. 48, Knights of Pythias. He was also a member of Middleton Lodge I.O.O.F. and of Thomas Jefferson Council, Jr. O.U.A.M., and until his last illness, active in his church and all the fraternities, with which he was affiliated. The body was removed to the funeral home of Graham & Sykes, 124 East Berkley avenue. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Memorial Methodist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
