Jones and daughter of the late Dempsey and Mrs. Polly Spence, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 6 p.m. She was a native of Camden Court House, N.C., but had resided in Norfolk for a number of years, making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph W. Porter, of 931 Graydon Avenue. Besides her daughter, she is survived by three sons, William J. Jones, of Norfolk, Charles E. Jones, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and George W. Jones, Jr., of Scarsdale, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Walker, of Elizabeth City, N.C, and Mrs. Hattie Barnard, of Shawboro, N.C.; one brother, Milton Spence, of Suffolk; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to the Ghent Methodist Church, of which she was a member, where services will be conducted by the Rev. John A. McKenry, Jr., tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
