Norfolk - Thomas E. Jones Sr. of 1428 W. 45th street, who died recently in a 
local hospital after a short illness, received final rites Sunday in St. Mark 
RZUA Church by the Rev. O. J. Allen.  Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with 
Hale Funeral Home in charge.
A native of Bracey, VA, he was a son of the late Tom and Mrs. Georgia Jones 
and the husband of the late Mrs. Victoria Jones.  He was a member of St. Mark 
Church and was retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad.

Surviving are six sons, Thomas E. Jones Jr. of New York, Isaac L. Jones of 
Plainville, PA, Judge C. Jones, Edward L. Jones, Russell H. Jones and Derrick 
L. Jones, all of Norfolk;  eight daughters, Mrs. Ella L. Watson of New York, 
Mrs. Kay J. Mack of Kansas, Mrs. Georgia N. Bullock, Mrs. Harriette C. 
Teshara, Mrs. Thomasine Carter, Mrs. Ursula A. Banks,  Mrs. Hattie V. Williams 
and Miss Francena C. Jones,  all of Norfolk;  one brother, Jonas Pailin of 
Norfolk;  one sister, Mrs. Bessie Charity of Norfolk;  34 grandchildren;  and 
three great-grandchildren.
