Hilary H. Jones, Sr., 57, father of Attorney Hilary H. Jones Jr., died Monday 
morning Jan. 19 following a sudden stroke. Mr. Jones would have observed his 
58th birthday on the 25th of this month.

Mr. Jones, who lived at 2932 E. Princess Anne road, had recently retired from 
the Norfolk Naval Supply Center, after 17 years service. He was a member of 
Queen Street Baptist Church and the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge, No. 2 A. F. and A. 
M. He was a former member of the Bachelor Benedic club and the Tux Club.

A native of Charles City County, VA, he had resided in Norfolk since early 
childhood. 

He is survived by his son, Hilary Jr.; the widow, Mrs. Gaither Rencher Jones; 
and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth V. Saunders, 576 Nicholson street, and Mrs. Julia 
Fonville, Bronx, NY.

Funeral services will be conducted at Queen Street Baptist Church Thursday at 3 
p.m. The Rev. J. Jasper Freeman will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary 
Cemetery, with Riddick Funeral Home in charge.
