Jordan, 1209 W. 40th street, a resident of Lamberts Point for more than 40 years, died July 17, at the age of 65. An energetic churchman, Mr. Jordan had served as deacon of Jerusalem Baptist Church for 25 years. He was a butcher at Burford’s grocery store, Lamberts Point, for 26 years, but recently had served as custodian at Larchmont Baptist Church. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Hattie M. Jordan; daughters Mrs. S. F. Coppage and Miss Mildred N. Jordan; a son, James W. Jordan of Richmond; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was to be held Wednesday, July 21, at the First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, with Rev. Mr. Ellis, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church, officiating.
