Miss Jordan died Wednesday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Maxine F. Burrell, at 708 Chapel St. The Rev. W. L. Hildebrand will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of B. F. King Funeral Home. A home economics teacher, Miss Jordan began her classroom career in Portsmouth before taking a post at S. C. Armstrong School on Cumberland street. Miss Jordan spent 45 years in the Norfolk system before her retirement 37 years ago. A Norfolk native, she was a graduate of Norfolk Mission College and Columbia University, and held membership in St. John Church and formerly taught Sunday school there. The deceased is survived by eight nieces, in addition to Mrs. Burrell, and three nephews. They are: Mrs. Constance Jones, Mrs. Aliene Davenport, Mrs. Ida Merritt, Mrs. Harriet J. Selden and Mrs. Etta Bailey of Norfolk, Misses Alice and Frances Pierce of Boston, Mrs. Ethel Ogburn of Newark, NJ; Hugh M. Jordan of Petersburg; Emerson J. Pierce of Boston, and Dr. C. Thurston Ferebee of White Plains, NY. Miss Jordan was the daughter of the late John H. Jordan and Mrs. Hannah Waller Jordan.
