Virginian Pilot August 9 1960

Mrs. Martha Williams Johnston Jordan, 84, widow of Robert Echols Jordan and 
daughter of Charles H., and Mrs. Harriot Adelia Williams Johnston, a native of 
Norfolk, and a lifelong resident of this area, died at 12:40 p.m., Monday at a 
Princess Anne County nursing home. 
She was a member of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Dewees Kyle, of New York and Harvey 
Cedars, N.J., three grandchildren, and one niece, Mrs. John Ball of Richmond.
A service will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, today at 4 p.m., by 
the Rev. Edmund Berkeley, rector of Galilee Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends are requested to omit flowers and contribute instead to the Cerebral 
Palsy Foundation.
