Norfolk-Mrs. Thelma Fentress Joyner, 73, of 8710 Hammett Ave., the widow of 
Byron Consolvo Joyner and a Norfolk native, died Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. in a 
hospital.
She was retired from Civil Service as a supervisor at the Armed Forces Staff 
College. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline J. Sykes of Norfolk; three 
granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. 
Norman G. Preston Jr. of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church. Hollomon-
Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, has charge.
