Norfolk - Willie R. Joyner of 629 Church street received final rites June 12 in 
Kingdom Hall on 27th street by Luther Lewin.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery 
with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

A native of Southampton County, he was a son of  Clara B. Joyner and the husband 
of Mrs. Hattie Lee Joyner.  He died June 8 in a hospital after a short illness.

He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was employed by the Lenox Theatre.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son, Willie R. Joyner Jr. of 
Norfolk;  five daughters, Mrs. Martha Scott of Franklin, Mrs. Geraldine Conner, 
Miss Barbara J. Joyner and Miss Elsie Joyner of Norfolk and Miss Lillie Mae 
Joyner of New York;  and eight grandchildren.
