Virginian-Pilot August 13, 1924
Mrs. Georgeanna Corbell Joyner, widow of George F. Joyner, and daughter of the 
late Thomas and Sarah Corbell, died at the residence of her nephew, George W. 
Grant, Ocean View, yesterday morning at 8:45 o'clock. She was a native of 
Kempsville, Va., but had lived in Norfolk the greater part of her life. She is 
survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Evans, Atlantic City, N.J.; two 
grandchildren, Mrs. A. N. Fried, of New York and Mrs. J. L. Broudy, of Norfolk; 
three nephews, George W., Charles C. and Alonzo Grant; a niece, Miss Lillie M. 
Grant, and two great-grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be 
conducted at the residence, Ocean View, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, the 
Rev. William E. Callender, chaplain at U. S. Public Service hospital, 
officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
