Virginian-Pilot January 11, 1969
NORFOLK - Paul Lee Joyner, 80, of 1150 Little Bay Ave., died in a hospital 
Friday.
He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Maynard Joyner and a son of Richard and Mrs. 
Annie Jackson Joyner.
A native of Southampton County, he lived here for 50 years. He retired from 
Swift & Co. after 47 years and was later a bookkeeper for Perry Buick Co.
He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, Wesleymen’s Bible Class and the 
Democratic Class.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Maynard Joyner of Cleveland, a brother, 
Thomas J. Joyner of Emporia; a sister, Mrs. Eva Lowe of Hopewell; and a 
grandson.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 2 
p.m. by Dr. Owen T. Kelly and Dr. Roy E. Bishop. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
