John J. Jurick Jr., 72, of the 800 block of Hollywood Drive, died Aug. 25, 2001, 
at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Jurick was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., the son of the late John and Mary 
Jurick. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Jurick retired from Electrical 
Equipment in 1994. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of 
Columbus, Fourth Degree.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Margaret Albertson Jurick; two daughters, 
Patricia K. Browning of Palmyra and Tisha M. Jones and her husband James of 
Norfolk; four sons, Robert A. Jurick and his wife Penny of Severn, Md., Stephen F. 
Jurick of Norfolk, Richard M. Jurick of Norfolk, Gregory Jurick and his wife Molly 
of Charlottesville; six grandchildren, Alina M. Jurick , Marena S. Jones, Jeremiah 
A. Jurick, William S. Browning, Madison L. Jones and Kennedy T. Jurick; two 
sisters, Sister Genevieve M. Jurick, OSF, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bernadette M. Jurick 
of Fairmont, W.Va.; two brothers, Joseph M. Jurick and his wife Eloise of 
Clarksburg, W.Va., Andrew B. Jurick of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and a host of 
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral Liturgy will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church by Father John J. Wagner III and Father James Griffin. The family will 
receive friends at the church following the service. A prayer service will be held 
at the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday and interment will follow at St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arthritis 
Foundation, 900 Commonwealth Place, Suite 101, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 or to 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is 
handling arrangements.
