Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, January 1, 1999 
Dorothy Mae Smith Jones, 70, of Lake Taylor Nursing Home, 1309 Kempsville Road, died
Dec. 27, 1998.

Born in Raleigh, N.C., she was the widow of Johnnie E. Jones and a member of
Church of God in Christ, Norfolk. She was predeceased by her parents, Luella
O'Neil Smith and John Wesley Smith.

Survivors include four daughters, Diane Spady, Catherine Mae Jones, Jeannie
Jones, all of Norfolk, JoAnne Jones Johnson of Chesapeake; three sons, Milton
Wesley Cuffee Jr. of Chesapeake, Harry Lee Jones and Irvin Jones, both of
Norfolk; two sisters, Florence Lewis and Ester White, both of Norfolk; three
brothers, John R. Smith of Virginia Beach, Raye Smith of Fremont, Ohio, William
L. Smith of Trenton; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Union Chapel AME Church, Norfolk, by
Elder Wallace Johnson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Applewhite Funeral
Home, Suffolk, is in charge. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today. The feeding
will be held at Prince Hall Masonic Temple, 1516 East Princess Anne Road, Norfolk.
