Virginian-Pilot  June 20, 1913
After an illness lasting more than two years, Sister Laurencia Kane, one of the 
Sisters of Charity at St. Vincent’s hospital, died yesterday afternoon at 4 
o’clock of tuberculosis. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning and interment 
will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
Sister Kane was a native of St. Louis and was 32 years old. She came to Norfolk 
about seven years ago, all of which time was spent at the hospital where her 
services as a nurse were known to many who have been ill in the institution.
