Mr. Kaufmann, a Norfolk native, retired from Goodman Segar Hogan Residential Sales Corp. after 20 years and had been a Norfolk sales representative for Lone Star Cement Corp. for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norfolk, and a former member of the lay advisory board of DePaul Hospital. He was a past president and one of the founders of Holy Family Retreat House in Hampton. He served as a captain in the Medical Administrative Corps during World War II. Survivors include two sisters, Margaret E. Kaufmann of Norfolk and Barbara K. Throckmorton of Richmond, and a brother, Paul R. Kaufmann of Tampa, Fla. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. John Dorgan. Friends may join the family at 8568 Executive Drive, D-2, Norfolk. H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to DePaul Hospital.
