Norfolk - Final rites were conducted Wednesday at Hale and Company Funeral home 
for William L. Kearney, 55, who worked as a funeral director for the company for 
30 years. He died Aug. 2 in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness.

The Rev. John R. Gray officiated at the service. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

A Norfolk native, Mr. Kearney was a member of the Sons of Norfolk.

The deceased was the father of William Kearney of the Air Force, who is 
stationed at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, and Louis Kearney, a Norview High 
School student, who lives with his mother, Mrs. Elouise D. Kearney at 974 Avenue 
I.
