Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark Wednesday June 4, 1924
Mrs. Viola G. Keefe, widow of Edgar Keefe, died Monday night at 11:15 o'clock at 
Newport News.  She was a native of Elizabeth City County, Va. and had been a 
resident of Norfolk for the last 23 years.  She was 53 years old and was a 
member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.  Besides her mother, Mrs. C.T. Saunders, 
of Newport News, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John J. Gaskin and Miss 
Margaret Keefe, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. C.S. Shield, of York County, 
Va., Mrs. C.V. Mitchell, of Riveriew, Va. and Mrs. Louise Wilson, of Newport 
News and five brothers, W.J. and Thomas Saunders, of Big Bethel, George J. and 
L.M. Saunders, of Newport News and J.B. Saunders, of Norfolk.  Funeral services 
will be conducted at the residence of her brother, J.B. Saunders, 2712 Leo 
street, this afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. J.T. Riddick, of Park Avenue 
Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
