She was the daughter of Jimmie James and the late Mrs. Annie Wynfry James, and wife of the late Samuel Keeling. She was a native of Norfolk, a member of New Calvary Baptist Church, the United Order of Tents “Lily of the Valley No. 4” and the Daughters of Norfolk. Mrs. Keeling was also active until her recent illness in the Floral Club and the D. Y. Campbell club. Surviving besides her father are three daughters, Mrs. Erlene Hooker and Mrs. Annie Harris of Norfolk, also Mrs. Doris Taylor of New York City; one sister, Mrs. Geneva Preston of New York City; three brothers, Floyd, Charles and Ernest James of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and an uncle, Knox James. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. by the Rev. A. Wilson, pastor. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery family plot, with Riddick Funeral Service in charge.
