Keeter, 86, of 300 Kemp Lane, died yesterday at 7:30 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness. An engineer by trade, he retired from the Norfolk Navy Yard in 1933. He was a member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. A native of Camden County, N.C., he had resided in this section 70 years. His parents were Albert and Mrs. Marietta Spence Keeter. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie L. Scarborough Keeter; three daughters, Mrs. John K. Hathaway, of Norfolk; Mrs. Alexander Wararen, of Winter Haven, Flla., and Mrs. Charles E. Kutcher, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; two brothers, T. S. Keeter, of Arcadia, Fla., and Raleigh Keeter, of South Norfolk; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
