Virginian-Pilot August 21, 1939
Mrs. Ida Pettis Kegebein, widow of George W. Kegebein, and daughter of the late 
Judson R. and Mrs. Annie DeCordy Pettis, a native and lifelong resident of 
Norfolk, died yesterday morning at a local hospital. She resided at 742 Boush 
street. Surviving her are one brother, Capt. Charles E. Pettis; two nieces, Mrs. 
James Henderson and Mrs. Willie Ellis; and three nephews, J. T. Pettis, Prof. 
Charles Pettis and Dr. James Pettis.
Services will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 
Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock, with the Rev. B. M. Persinger, 
D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
