KELLEY Man Who Was Struck By Automobile A Week Ago Found Dead In His Room Becoming exhausted from the effects of a ruptured blood vessel in his abdomen, S.S. Kelley fell from a chair in which he was seated in a bedroom at his residence, 217 Holt Street, sometime during Sunday night, the exact hour not being known, and his body was found lifeless yesterday morning about 8 o'clock by members of his family. Last Saturday night a week ago Mr. Kelley was struck by an automobile. It was not thought that he was even seriously injured in the accident and Dr. Kight, coroner, and Dr. Riddick, attending physician, have not yet determined whether or not the shock from the automobile coming in contact with the body of Mr. Kelley finally caused his death. Mr. Kelley was downtown last on Saturday. Sunday he spent the day about the house reading. He retired to his room early Sunday night and this was the last time he was seen alive. No groans were heard from his room and presumably death was without a struggle. The deceased is survived by three children -- S.W. Kelley and M.C. Kelley, sons who resided with him, and a daughter, Mrs. Laura F. Noble, of Washington. When seen at the family residence yesterday afternoon the sons said they had no doubt but that death was caused from a ruptured blood vessel. At that time the autopsy had not been completed by the Coroner and Dr. Riddick. The sons do not appear to think that the death of their father was even primarily caused from the automobile accident. Mr. Kelley was 62 years of age and well known in Norfolk, where he has resided for years. At one time he was in the laundry and bill posting business, but for a long time past has been ticket taker at the Academy of Music. The deceased was well known in lodge circles, being a member of the Royal Arcanum, the Elks and Knights of Pythias. Upon orders of Coroner Kight the body was removed to Oliver's undertaking establishment, where the autopsy was held. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning. The details have not yet been completed. *************************************************************************** KELLEY - Suddenly, at the residence, No. 217 Holt Street, Sunday, June 5, 1910, STEPHEN S.
