Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, April 8, 2004 
Joseph "Joe" Kelley Jr. of the 400 block of Pepper Mill Lane, an environmental
service consultant and retired U.S. Air Force technical sergeant, died April 3,
2004, in Atlantic City, N.J.

A native of Norfolk, he was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth
Kelley; sister, Alma Joyner; and wife, Deloris A. Kelley.

Survivors include three daughters, Olivia Copes (Willie), Pamela Little, Sharon
McLeod; a son, Mervin Kelley (Nicole); two stepdaughters, Cathy Hegwood, Pamela
Deloatch; a stepson, Norman Deloatch; two sisters, Jean Kelley of Norfolk,
Shirley Gibbs of Smithfield; a very special friend, Evelyn Brown of Chesapeake;
12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and other friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riddick Funeral Home, 1225
Norview Ave. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8
p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and visitors
