Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch January 16, 1946
Mrs. Mary Browne Kelly, 77, died at the residence of her granddaughters, Mrs. E. 
F. Cooper and Mrs. Mary E. Howard, at 1039 Stewart Street, South Norfolk, last 
night at 9:05 o'clock, after a lingering illness.
She was the widow of William Edward Kelly and the daughter of the late W. L. and 
Mrs. Lydia Capps Browne. She was a native of Norfolk and had lived here all her 
life with the exception of the past five years, during which time she made her 
home in South Norfolk. She was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by a brother, W. L. Browne, Jr., of Washington D.C., 
seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the James V. Derry Funeral Home 
Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
