Kelly, known to all residents of Norfolk and many of the younger ones too, died at his residence, 93 Chapel street, at 9 o’clock last night. He was in the 75th year of his age. Mr. Kelly, who was a resident of Norfolk for fifty years, was born in Hetfor county, Galway, (sic) Ireland. He had been ill for several years, and for the past ten or twelve months had been confined to his bed. In his younger days, he held several positions under the municipal government of Norfolk. During the first administration of John F. Lawler, city sergeant, he was turnkey at the city jail. He is survived by a widow, four sons and five daughters. Mr. Kelly was also well known in Washington, Philadelphia and Richmond. The funeral services will take place from St. Mary’s Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock.
