He was a native of Gloucester County and had lived in this section fifty years. He was a son of the late John T. and Mrs. Mary Stuberfield Kemp. He was a member of the Campostella Methodist Church and a prominent resident of that community. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dora Kemp and these children: Mrs. W.C. Clark, Mrs. C.B. Pitt, Mrs.. Stanley Barnes, Middlesex County, Va., Mrs. E.L. Ellington and Miss Blanch Kemp, of Campostella Heights, a brother A.W. Kemp, Oakdale, Norfolk County, and four sisters, Mrs. L.C. Dennis, Mrs. Delia Burchett, Mrs. W.E. Howell, Washington, D.C. and Mrs. O.D. Drewry, of this city. The funeral will be conducted at the above residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. Mr. Hill, pastor of the Campostella Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
