Norfolk Virginian March 20, 1888
                                  FUNERALS.
The funeral of Mrs. J. Lenora Kemp took place Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock 
from the Centenary M. E. Church, the pastor, Rev. Wm. H. Christian, officiating, 
assisted by Rev. Joshua S. Hunter, of Queen Street M. E. Church. The interment 
took place in Elmwood Cemetery, the following gentlemen acting as pallbearers: 
Messrs. Wm. Hall, Wm. Fink, James Lookins, G. W. Harrison, D. C. Bell, H. K. Bell, 
John Purnell and James L. Belote.

Additional Comments:
While her date of death looks to be 10 March from her tombstone, the VA death 
register has it being 16 March, which would fit better with the funeral being 2 
days later
