Mrs. Kemp, 74, Dies After Heart Attack
NORFOLK - Mrs. Lillian Ottie Franklin Kemp, 74, died in the home of her son, 
John E. Kemp, 3609 Don Court, Saturday at 2:15 p.m., after a heart attack.
A native of Bedford County, she lived in Norfolk 58 years, lately with her son. 
She was the widow of John Thomas Kemp Jr. Her late parents were Mr. and Mrs. 
William Franklin.
She was a member of Zion Grace Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge 37, 
Independent Order Odd Fellows, and was a past matron of Westminster Chapter 99, 
Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are two other sons, Morris W. Kemp and Bernard O. Kemp of Norfolk; 
three sisters, Mrs. Berta Chilton of Crewe, Mrs. Katie Moore of Petersburg and 
Mrs. Grace Sublet of Redford; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted in Derry-Twiford Funeral Home Tuesday at 11 
a.m. by the Rev. Sidley L. Willis, pastor of Zion Grace Methodist Church. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
