Virginian-Pilot June 26, 1959
NORFOLK — Mrs. Louise Schaffner Kemp, 78, widow of John P. Kemp, a native of 
Philadelphia, and daughter of John and Sarah Brown Schaffner, and a resident of 
Norfolk since childhood, died Thursday at 12:30 p.m., at the residence, 1114 
Graydon Ave.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Samuel J. Henderson, Mrs. Jackson M. 
Austin and Mrs. G. Leonard Willis of Norfolk, five grandchildren, and 10 great-
grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for funeral services Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight 
at 7:30 o’clock. The family will be at 1114 Graydon Ave.
