She was a native of Nansemond County, and had been a resident of Norfolk and Norfolk County for the past 63 years. She was the widow of Arrelious W. Kemp and a daughter of the late John Randolph and Anne Amelia Ames Trammell. Mrs. Kemp was a member of Oaklette Methodist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. F. Guy Henley, of Chattanooga, Tenn; Mrs. Harry E. Billups, Mrs. Henry A. McDonough and Miss Catherine D. Kemp, all of Fairview; a son, Arthur W. Kemp, of Hopewell; six grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. C.P. Scarborough, of Lafayette, Ala.; Mrs. Edward Holland, of Norfolk and Mrs. William H. Clark, of Ocean Park, and a brother, Elisha Trammell, of Mt. Pleasant, Norfolk County. The body will be taken from the Cox Funeral Home to Oaklette Methodist Church for funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. I. Llewellyn, pastor of Oceana Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for half an hour prior to the services.
