Kempton of Baltimore died in Norfolk Monday in the 68th year of his age. He was born in Baltimore, but came to this city in failing health about four months ago and during his last illness he was a patient at St. Vincent’s hospital. Mr. Kempton’s wife was the eldest daughter of the late Col. Robert W. Bowden, Norfolk, whose demise occurred in Baltimore in August, 1907. The deceased, at one time engaged in the wholesale paper business in Baltimore, and later on was in charge of the McIlwaine Paper Company of Petersburg, but retired from this many years ago on account of declining health. He is survived by a son, Warren C. Kempton, of Baltimore. The funeral was private and the interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery.
